New Functionality for Item Management API Calls & On Request Reports in June 2024
New Releases: June 2024
Walmart is launching new functionality for the Item Management API calls in June 2024. This new API’s will allow for suppliers to continue automating workflows previously only available in Supplier One. Additionally we have refreshed all existing Item Setup and Maintenance Feedtype Specs to align with the latest standards in Supplier One. This will allow Suppliers to continue to maximize content quality scores!
These updates includes the following new functionality and updates, to include:

(NEW) Store Item Setup Available Through API: Walmart now provides suppliers the ability to set up items being sold in Walmart stores using the new item setup feed type
OMNI_OWNED_ITEM
. This feed type can be used to set up any items that are sold and shipped to Walmart, whether they are sold at a Walmart-owned store or at a store and on eCommerce. Learn more here -
(NEW) Item Configuration On Request Report: Download all of your Walmart Item Numbers (WINs) and their associated Supply Chain & Logistics attributes, including cost in a single report using our On Request Reporting Platform. This will allow for suppliers to download more than the 5,000 item limitation present in Supplier 1. Learn more here

(UPDATE) Item Setup and Maintenance Feed Type Versions: Walmart has released updated versions for all product type item setup and maintenance feed types. Learn more here. Key changes include:

Supporting Used/Refurbished Item Setup: During item setup, suppliers will now have the option to define an item’s condition and set up items for sale that are used or refurbished.

Updated Attribute and Value Lists: All versions have updated attributes and value lists to align to the latest attributes and value lists available in Supplier One.

Removal of Attributes for Maintenance: Suppliers can no longer edit the following key attributes:
* **Orderable Data Model:** The start and end dates are no longer editable by suppliers. Contact the merchant to edit. * **Visible/Product Type:** This applies to all variant groupings. Use Supplier One data. * **Supply Chain:** The Walmart department number and information provider global location number (GLN) are no longer editable by suppliers. Contact the merchant to edit, or update in GS1 connection.

( UPDATE) Item Product Type Taxonomy: Walmart has released an updated version of the item product type Taxonomy. This update has all new available product types, and it updates classification and department numbers.
Updated Schema Files and What Has Changed
All new feed file schemas are available in Walmart’s feed file section. Walmart has also provided a differences report for all changes made between the two versions of the feed file. This differences report includes:
