New: Walmart Developer Docs MCP server

Date: October 14, 2026

We've introduced the Walmart Developer Docs Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, enabling AI-powered coding assistants to access authoritative Walmart Developer documentation directly within their development environments.

The MCP server is currently available approved Solution Providers only, but will soon be available to approved sellers as well.

What changed

  • AI-assisted documentation access: Connect supported coding assistants, including VS Code, Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex, to authoritative Walmart Developer documentation.
  • API discovery and schema lookup: Search API operations, review request and response schemas, and retrieve authentication requirements for US and Global Marketplace APIs.
  • Integration assistance: Use documentation context to generate API request examples, troubleshoot integration errors, and work through multi-step Marketplace workflows.
  • Daily documentation updates: Access documentation that is refreshed daily to reflect the latest available Walmart Developer information.

Why it matters

The MCP server helps developers find API information, generate integration code, and troubleshoot issues without switching between their coding assistant and the Walmart Developer Portal.
