Product package dimensions and weight

We added optional, recommended fields to capture a product’s package dimensions and weight during item setup. Product package dimensions are the measurements and weight of the sealed shipping package for the sellable item, including the retail box and protective materials. For example, the white Apple iPhone box. You can submit depth, height, width, and weight to improve duty estimates, freight eligibility, and cross-border readiness. Use manufacturer measurements in inches and pounds with up to four decimal places, and ensure all values are non-negative.

What’s changed

• Added new Orderable fields: productPackageDimensionsDepth (in), productPackageDimensionsHeight (in), productPackageDimensionsWidth (in), productPackageWeight (lb).
• Validation: accepts non-negative values with up to four decimal places.

Why it matters

• More accurate duties: Supports estimating shipping costs before transaction so they can be excluded from the dutiable amount where applicable.
• Better shipping selection: Uses package dimensions to qualify bulky items for the right shipping options.
• Broader cross-border eligibility: Ensures items can be evaluated for international programs that require complete dimensions.
