Seller Performance API overview
Walmart conducts regular reviews of all seller-fulfilled Marketplace orders to ensure performance standards are met. You’re required to meet the established standards. For details on how to keep your account in good standing, review Seller performance standards. To understand how order and fulfillment performance affect your seller performance metrics review Order and fulfillment performance: Shipping performance.
To ensure your account remains in good standing, you should regularly monitor your metrics using the Seller Performance APIs. You can use these APIs to measure, troubleshoot, and improve the metrics Walmart uses to evaluate account health. You can generate Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) datasets, summaries that help you monitor performance, get metrics for your business, and dig into root causes.
To ensure accuracy, datasets refresh every 24 hours.
For the prerequisites (API keys, OAuth2.0) to integrate Marketplace APIs and onboarding steps to get started as a seller or solution provider, refer to the Walmart Marketplace Getting Started guide.
Some of the key metrics you can review using the Seller performance APIs are listed below.
- On-time delivery rate – Orders delivered by the promised date.
- Valid tracking rate – Shipments with a working carrier and tracking ID.
- Response rate – Your timely responses to Walmart/customer contacts.
- Refund rate – Orders refunded after fulfillment.
- Cancellation rate – Orders you canceled before fulfillment.
- Carrier method accuracy – Carrier/method you used matches what you promised.
- On-time shipment – Orders shipped by the promised ship date.
- Ship-from location accuracy – Actual ship-from matches the configured origin.
Seller Performance API endpoints
There are two sets of endpoints that you can use to monitor your Seller Performance metrics.
- Standard metrics endpoints - Provides the operational data that you need to understand whether you are consistently meeting customer expectations and delivering quality service.
- Simplified Shipping Settings endpoint - Offer insight into how closely your actual fulfillment adheres to the configurations you set in Simplified Shipping Settings.
There are two ways to access your Seller Performance data.
- Summary endpoints (JSON) - Calculates metric percentages and provides a summary for a selected time window and order types.
- Report endpoints (Excel .xlsx) - Downloads an Excel file with the orders used to calculate the metric percentages for a selected time window and order types. You can use this information in investigation and root cause analysis.
