Ad Items
Ad Item endpoint limitations:
- A maximum of 50 ad items can be added to an ad group in a single POST batch request
- A maximum of 50 ad items can be updated in a single PUT batch request
- A maximum of 2000 ad items can be added to an ad group for Auto Bid and Keyword Bidded campaigns
- For Sponsored Brands (earlier known as Search Brand Amplifier or SBA) campaigns, you need to add minimum 2 ad items to an ad group. it is required to have at minimum 2 ad items in an ad group
- For Sponsored Videos campaigns , you need to add minimum 1 ad item to an ad group.
- A maximum of 10 ad items are allowed to be added to an ad group for Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Videos campaigns
*Note:*
- We recommend adding at least 3 ad items to an ad group for Sponsored Brands campaigns and Sponsored Videos campaigns . This helps avoid ads from not serving due to an out-of-stock scenario
- If only 1 ad item remains eligible to serve in a campaign, the ad will stop serving on Desktop but continue to serve on Mobile for Sponsored Brands
Possible Reasons of Item Upload Failure:
Please note following scenarios to avoid an item upload failure:
- When an item is not owned by the advertiser
- When item id is incorrect or not found in catalog
- You cannot upload variant items for campaign types Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Videos . We currently support advertising variant items for campaign type Sponsored Products only
- You cannot upload an unpublished item. However, if a published item, added to the campaign becomes unpublished, you can still update it. Please note that ad will stop serving for the item that becomes unpublished after it was added
- You cannot promote a virtual pack/bundle (multiple of a primary variant item (ex. 2-pack) grouped as one item) without the assistance of a Walmart support agent at this time. In this case, please submit a support ticket _(via https://advertisinghelp.walmart.com/s/contact) with the API Partner Enablement team for assistance in promoting this item.
