MCS Sandbox FAQ

1. What is MCS API sandbox test data simulation? 

MCS sandbox users can now create custom test data, in addition to retrieving non-customizable mock datasets provided by Walmart. Customize the test data in your MCS API sandbox according to your needs to quickly and easily simulate end to end flows before going live. These APIs allow you to simulate the MCS workflow such as setting up items, setting up sales channel, creating and cancelling customers order, and tracking the order status. 

2. How do I get started and obtain my credentials for the MCS API Sandbox? 

To get started, refer to Walmart Sandbox documentation for instructions on obtaining sandbox credentials.

3. Can I test MCS Returns in MCS API Sandbox Environment with custom test data?

Not yet, the MCS Returns APIs are currently not available in the MCS API Sandbox Environment. They will be introduced in a future release. At this time, the sandbox endpoints for MCS Returns APIs continue to return non-customizable mock datasets for testing purposes.

4. How long is my test data retained and when is it deleted?

All entity data in the MCS API Sandbox is retained for up to 2 days and automatically cleared afterward.
