Notifications overview
Push notifications, also known as webhooks, trigger alerts to seller applications when events occur. For example, an item is unpublished, a new order is created, or inventory reaches out of stock. When an event occurs, Walmart sends a webhook event payload (HTTP POST) with details to the seller-defined destination URL. Notifications help optimize integrations, automate workflows, and reduce how often an application must poll Walmart APIs within the rate limits to check for events.
Walmart’s API notification platform allows sellers to:
- View available notification event types
- Create, view, update, and delete subscriptions
- Test subscriptions and integrations
Benefits:
- Optimize integrations
- Automate workflows
- Reduce polling within API rate limits
