Repricer strategy
Using the Repricer APIs, you can enable automatic price adjustments for items in your catalog. Based on the rules you set, prices are dynamically adjusted based on triggers such as winning Buy Box offers and/or external site prices. The Repricer API eliminates the need for manual price updates whenever competitors change their prices, helping you stay competitive.
Use the Repricer API to create custom pricing strategies tailored to your business needs. You can determine how and when to reprice your catalog to improve performance. You can tailor dynamic pricing strategies to various factors, including competitor pricing, market demand, and sales performance. This flexibility allows you to optimize pricing, stay competitive, and maximize your sales potential.
Ensure that you have read and agreed to the Repricer terms and conditions before using the Reprice API. To accept the terms and conditions, navigate to the Pricing section in Walmart Seller Center and choose Repricer. |
Pricing strategies
Competitive price strategy - This strategy adjusts your price to meet or beat the price that is most competitive for a customer between the Buy Box price and an external price. We recommend selecting this rule type to offer customers the most competitive price.
Competitive Price strategy automatically adjusts prices while maintaining the same meet or beat margin. Some examples are:
- If the lowest offer between the Buy Box or External Price decreases from $16.00 to $15.00 and you have established a rule to Beat by $0.20, then your price will adjust to $14.80.
- If the lowest offer between the Buy Box or External Price increases from $15.00 to $16.00 and you have established a rule to Beat by $0.20, then your price will adjust to $15.80.
External price strategy - This strategy adjusts your prices to meet or beat prices found on external sites. This strategy automatically adjusts prices while maintaining the same Meet or Beat by a set margin. Some examples are:
- If the external offer decreases from $16.00 to $15.00 and you’ve established a rule to Beat By $0.20, then your price will adjust to $14.80, letting you offer the most competitive price.
- If the external site price increases from $15.00 to $16.00 and you have established a rule to Beat By $0.20, then your price will increase to $15.80.
To make this strategy effective, assign the strategy to items that are offered on other sites. You can see which offers have competitive matches in the Seller Center. Navigate to Catalog to download the Item Report. For additional details, refer to Generate an item report.
Buy Box strategy - This strategy adjusts your prices to meet or beat the winning Buy Box price on Walmart.com. You can check which offers are competing for Buy Box prominence by downloading the Buy Box Report. Although pricing is one of the key factors that help determine a Buy Box winner, Walmart analyzes all attributes of your item listing, such as inventory, delivery, and content, when determining the Buy Box winner. This strategy will automatically adjust prices while keeping the same meet or beat margin. Some examples are:
- If the Buy Box price decreases from $16.00 to $15.00 and you have established a rule to Beat By $0.20, then your price will adjust to $14.80, allowing you to offer the most competitive price.
- If the Buy Box price increases from $15.00 to $16.00 and you have established a rule to Beat By $0.20, then your price increases to $15.80.
To make this strategy effective, assign items that have competition for the Walmart Buy Box.
