Get started as a Solution Provider
Walmart Marketplace isn’t only for sellers. Companies can be approved Solution Providers who develop software that could improve sellers’ eCommerce workflows and contribute to their success.
Register to be an approved Solution Provider
- Apply to become a Walmart Solution Provider by completing this submission form. The entire approval and application publication process may take between three to five months.
- Walmart will send approval emails to each approved Solution Provider.
- Upon approval, connect with the team at Walmart for consultation. Then, Walmart will invite you to receive your keys and build your application on the Partner Resource Center.
- Demo your application to the Walmart team to confirm application functionality. The testing process with the team ensures that the core seller experiences work as intended. Walmart needs to approve your app before we can host your app in the Seller Center App Store.
- Your application will be hosted in the Seller Center App Store, and you will be listed as an approved Solution Provider on the Marketplace App Store website.
Implement OAuth2.0
OAuth 2.0 is the industry standard for token-based authentication and API authorizations. It adds an extra layer of security, making the process more secure for users. OAuth 2.0 makes the process seamless and more secure than manual authentication methods.
Why you should implement OAuth 2.0
When your application uses OAuth 2.0, the onboarding process for sellers is simplified. Sellers can select Connect from your Seller Center App Store listing and sign in to authorize your application for access to their eCommerce information.
Delegated keys require customers to perform additional, precise steps which can be complicated. This complexity might prompt them to consider other apps with the Connect button (OAuth 2.0 support).
The Delegated Access method is no longer supported. Moving forward, all approved Solution Providers are expected to use OAuth 2.0.
Learn and use the Walmart API sandbox
You can use the Walmart API Sandbox tool to test the Marketplace APIs and ensure successful integrations.
- Retrieve your API keys from the Developer Portal. There are two methods for approved Solution Providers to gain access to the sandbox:
- OAuth 2.0 (recommended)
- Delegated Access
- Learn the throttling limits for Marketplace APIs.
- Learn what APIs are available in the API sandbox.
- Review the error codes that are applicable to Walmart Marketplace APIs.
