Getting Started with Inbound Load Board

Before clients integrate with Inbound Load Board (ILB) APIs, they must request Inbound Load Board access.

The ILB application is a transportation portal system created by Walmart to match loads, to Walmart carriers, for delivery. There are two platforms available for the Inbound Load Board clients, API production and testing.

The production platform is used for client and commercial use and is a deployed application. Since client data is proprietary information, access may be limited. Contact your system administrator for details. The base URL is developer.api.us.walmart.com

The testing platform is for development on the ILB application. Information is not proprietary, and items may be freely created, deleted, or modified. Contact your system administrator for details. The base URL is https://developer.api.us.stg.walmart.com

The ILB support team will send clients an HTML file through email to set up the ILB API. The client is assigned a client_id and client_secret. These values are used to retrieve the authorization token. The client_secret is a sensitive value and must be password protected.

Walmart provides clients REST web services for ILB spot bidding. Use the Walmart services to:

  • Authenticate using a login service to generate a security token
  • Retrieve loads available for spot bidding
  • Accept fixed price loads
  • Bid on spot loads
