OAuth 2.0 is the industry standard for token-based authentication and API authorizations. It adds an extra layer of security, making the process more secure for users. OAuth 2.0 makes the process seamless and more secure than manual authentication methods.
Register to be an approved Solution Provider
- Apply to become a Walmart approved Solution Provider by completing this submission form. The entire approval and application publication process may take between three to five weeks.
- Walmart will send an approval email after review to connect with the Walmart Partnerships team for consultation.
- You will then be invited to register on the Solution Provider Center to get Sandbox access for Development.
- Implement OAuth 2.0 authorization.
- After integration development, register the application for listing on the Seller Center App Store. Submit your application for verification.
- The verification process with Walmart ensures that the core seller experiences work as intended. You will be requested to demo your application to confirm application functionality. Walmart needs to approve your application before you can publish it for Sellers on the Seller Center App Store.
- After approval, your application you can published to be listed on the Marketplace App Store website as an approved Solution Provider
Why you should implement OAuth 2.0
When your application uses OAuth 2.0, the onboarding process for sellers is simplified. Sellers can select Connect from your Seller Center App Store listing and sign in to authorize your application for access to their eCommerce information.
The Delegated Access method is no longer supported. Moving forward, all approved Solution Providers are expected to use OAuth 2.0.

The Walmart Developer Portal provides Delegated Access authorization to allow approved Solution Providers to create separate API Keys and credentials for each approved Solution Provider. Delegated Access allows sellers to manage Solution Providers API keys and provide access permission granularly per service (for example: items set up or manage orders). We recommend that you use delegated access to maintain security of your API Key. For more details, refer to Delegated access authorization
Rate limits
If you submit too many feeds in a short period of time, you may exceed Walmart’s rate limits and receive HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) responses. For more details on throttling and best practices, refer to the Rate Limiting Guide.
